MEET CAPTAIN JJ OWCZAREK

I grew up in Charleston & Isle of Palms, so fishing has been a part of my life from a very young age. I started fishing with minnows and cut bait early on, but over time I've honed my skills in throwing artificials and flys.
Now with over 15 years of fishing experience in the local waters, sight fishing has become a favorite tactic of mine. But I certainly still enjoy fishing with bait under corks or on the bottom. As long as I'm on the water, life is good.
The Skiff
I fish a 2018 Beavertail Vengeance that is 18' long, drafts 9'' and is powered with a Mercury 115. The Vengeance was designed and manufactured with serious fishing in mind. Its ride, stability and shallow draft allow it to easily fish the creeks, rivers and bays that make up the Lowcountry. Weather you're bait fishing, casting artificials, or throwing flys this boat can do it all.
